We are incredibly proud of our pupils' attendance at Torfield. Over the last five years, our pupils have consistently had the highest attendance of any special school in East Sussex. Last year, however, we noticed that the single biggest medical reason for absence was visits to the dentist to treat tooth decay.
This is why, during this term's PPA lessons, we have focused on our Being Healthy Rainbow Award and taught pupils about the importance of good dental hygiene. Staff have delivered individualised lessons for all of our pupils on how to keep their teeth clean, and every pupil has been given a new toothbrush to take home and use regularly.
We hope these efforts will help all of our pupils stay healthy, keep smiling, and spend more time enjoying their learning at school!
